Pushing Boundaries on the Bike and at Work: BlueStone and Ramon Sinkeldam
At BlueStone, we promote a healthy lifestyle. Our highly skilled migrants can take advantage of corporate fitness programs, and we encourage them to explore the Netherlands in true Dutch fashion > by bike. Moving to a new country and embracing a new culture is a true achievement. It takes courage to leave your comfort zone. That’s why we’ve partnered with former professional cyclist Ramon Sinkeldam, a Dutch national road champion, experienced Tour de France rider, and now active in the gravel racing scene.

Shared Values
Ramon Sinkeldam has made his mark in the world of cycling. Born on February 9, 1989, in Zaandam, he became a well-known name in the peloton. In 2017, he won the Dutch national championship, followed by a European title in 2019 in the mixed team relay. As a lead-out specialist, he competed in the world’s most prestigious races, including multiple Tour de France and Paris-Roubaix editions.
After more than a decade at the top level, Ramon chose a new path in 2024: gravel racing. This discipline demands strength, endurance, independence, adaptability, and tactical insight. These are exactly the qualities we see every day in our highly skilled migrants—people who leave behind the familiar, adapt to new environments, and thrive.
"After 13 years as a professional cyclist, racing around the world at the highest level, it’s time for a new challenge in the world of gravel.”
Ramon’s decision to take on a new challenge after a successful career is a powerful symbol: even after reaching the top, you can set new goals and continue to grow. We see the same in the journeys of our professionals, who bring their skills and ambition to the Netherlands and build new futures here.
Why Cycling and BlueStone Are a Natural Match
In the Netherlands, cycling is more than a mode of transportation; it’s a way of life and a vital part of our culture. Our decision to sponsor Ramon is not just a marketing move; it's a conscious choice. His story perfectly reflects our values: having the courage to push limits and explore new paths, with the proper support and guidance.
Our collaboration with Ramon is about more than just sport. It’s about perseverance, connection, and growing together. Whether it’s a tough gravel race or building a career in a new country, we believe in personal growth and human connection.
Over the coming year, we’ll share more about our partnership with Ramon on our social channels. From race recaps to beach clinics during the Egmond-Pier-Egmond race, we’ll show you how cycling and the Netherlands are deeply intertwined.
